Decluttered and added radial lines.

This is a picture of it

This is where you can download the DDS file to save in game.

I would like all the bomber killers to have it. Ideally everyone will use it as makes vectoring much easier.

We can just call bombers on the radial and distance.

Example "Bombers on 300 for 200 miles track direct B" This tells everyone the bombers are on the 300 degree radial, 200 miles out riding that radial straight to Berlin.

Example "Bombers 280 for 260 miles track east" This tells everyone 280 radial at 200 miles tracking directly east.

This works better for my pilot brain than grid squares because then I don't even have to look at the map.

Please download and take a look.

Questions and comments welcome

I know it looks complex but it is pretty simple.

Berlin is the bullseye. Positions are all in reference to the bullseye.

Direction from Berlin and distance.

Once you know the format it can be abbreviated.

300 degrees from Berlin at 200 miles becomes 300/200

The giant advantage to this system for this series is everything is referenced to the known series target. Once the bombers turn towards Berlin all the interceptors need do is grab the known radial and ride it outbound.

So if the call is 270/100 inbound the fighters just fly to a point on the 270 closer than 100 miles and turn to 270 and they will see the bombers.

It will aid folks in self vectoring greatly.

I have downloaded your compass rose map and will attempt to use it when relaying BG information.

Be advised - I will relay your information in addition to the standard grid method to accommodate those who may have not seen this thread or who choose to use the grid method.

One of the Jagdgeschwaders will have flight lead for Lf6.

The combination of reference points worked well IMO.

If we could get calls to go Radial/Distance that would be great. So a bomber at 270 Radial for 100 miles would be 270/100

Always Bearing/Range.

Saves typing...quick SA (if you know where you are when it is called) :)

Thanks for giving GCI using bearing and distance format. It made things much easier.

Twas my 1st time using the radial system. Liked it!

I had mixed results with the radial. I got it but took me too long to figure the range rings and in combat like most people it was easier to revert to training.

I'll practice with it more to make a better assessment of its use.

What you will find is that you can visualize in your head quickly where something is relative to you....more so then a series of grid numbers.

And as you said... practice makes ease of use:)

Maybe we can convince Dawger to drop a bullseye on the current Main map..like dead nuts center at the 5,5 grid, and guys can download and use if they so desire.

Cheers!

Well, in the first frame I called Radials, then the grid so everyone seemed to be able to get a good lineup on the bombers. :)
