Frame 5 was intense and exciting. The Knights Who Say Ni! (KoN) along with the United Mud Movers (UMM) were tasked my Hogjaw the frame CO to do our best to close Fields 81 and 82. If we had time, F67 was going to be another target.
With great anticipation the KoN lifted from F62 and our KoN fighters from F64. Soon, UMM was on their way to meet us at our adding RP.
As we got closer, our fighter joined us and UMM was bringing up the rear. I handed out our target assignments and hoped we would be able to close it. We knew it would be risky having to go back and do a second sortie to finish it off.
As we got closer to F82, tension was on the raise because we knew the enemy was close and our fighters would soon be called into action. We reached our assigned altitude of 20k, set our throttle to 90% and called for doors and to green up.
I called for a final count of pilots and made sure everyone knew their targets. With a great bunch of mud movers, I knew they were more than capable of getting the job done. We did have some discos so some last minute assignments had to be made. Making last minute changes and flying on the edge is what we do best.
It was great to see our KoN fighters led by Swanee high above us. They have performed beyond what was expected and always got the job done.
Soon, the target was in sight and bombs were being dropped. It was a beautiful sight seeing targets go down one by one. Not everything went as planned, but in war, nothing does. Still it was a great drop.
I called the RTB and our guys were on their way home. Next the UMM made their run. Cons were beginning to show so our fighters went into action. I gave the orders to our fighters to stay over the target and protect the UMM’s as the made their attack. Sokar was the first the fall and Noflyz was our only fallen brother. The rest of his group did make it back.
The KoN decided to go back and finish off F82 and the UMM’s were to hit F67. We landed; re armed and made our way back to the target. With smaller group we were able to close F82 and UMM F67. The only Bettie lost on this run was Gofly. Once again, our fighters were engaging the enemy which allowed us to get home in one piece.
After landing, the KoN and UMM decided to try and get to F81 before time was up. We lifted again, leveled at 10k and flew as fast as we could. I think I burned out my E6B doing constant time and distance calculations. We would only have 1 minute to spare over the target.
Hogjaw called for the 352nd and any other escorts he could mustard up giving us the much needed support because we knew the enemy would be heading over there to protect F81.
The call for doors and to green up once again sent out. Bombers were dropped and targets were being destroyed. The UMM did what they could as well but sadly the call for no more strikes was received. All we needed was 3 more minutes and we could have closed it.
The fighters did once again a great job in protecting us. I saw many enemies fall at the hand of our fighters. We RTB knowing we at least gave it a try so spirits were high. I decided to have a little fun and land at F64 which wasn’t easy because it sits between two mountains. I have a great video of this feat and it was fun watching the others trying to land their Betties.
Thanks to Hogjaw for planning a fun filled evening. A special thanks to Noflyz as well. It was a pleasure working together planning our sorties together. This is the reason why we fly the S3’s. You get to work with other squadrons that you would not normally get to in the Main. Thank you Swanee for taking the fighter escort leader. You did an awesome and appreciate your support.

Hawk always does a great job of planning. A smart CO gives the target to the bombers (unless he is a bomber dude COing) and lets them plan their route. They know their plane's capabilities much better than us fighter pilots.
