S3 Series

We had 16 show for the final dance of this series.
Pappyb had the six pilots who flew 1009s in Frame 4 fly the KI 43, with the
rest in 109s.
The plan was to have the Ki43s head east to look for Swordfish in that area.
Theylaunched first with a flight of 109s for cover and the rest then launched
and climbed south southwest towards the 148 area. Bombr was again providing able GCI
and called bandits near tgt area so had us reverse and continue climb. The KIs having seen no buffs east,
came back to our area and stayed high. We saw no enemy when we arrived so capped the area until we
had to RTB for fuel.
Had a quick turn around and headed SSW again where some low buffs were spotted near 154. We were split up a bit due to
some scouts spotted north of 154, but a flight led by light and kelly dove in to chase the buffs.
As the rest arrived, we saw action on the deck, so I took a flight down to assist. The fight ranged from deck
to about 5k. Kelly got a buff but ran nto debri and had to bail. We got a few and lost a few when
we got a chance to egress, we did so to RTB for ammo, fuel and fresh rides.
Light took lead of our remaining group and wound up in a running fight from 154 area back to our base at 132.
All in all it was an exciting night for us, but we took a big hit and had about 4 left when the frame
ended.
Comm mixup didn't help, but wasn't a real snafu as we were on TS. Just was cumbrsome remembering what channel HQtRS could read.
