Rough night for JG51. We were in 110Cs tasked with covering Rupel Pass while the rest of LF6 was in BF109Es flying escort missions.

Throughout the night we were engaged repeatedly by 352nd in Hurris and slowly lost more than we took down. Our last sortie we sent three aircraft heavy to close 52 or 53. Finally settling on 52 we were jumped just as we dove in to drop and lost two of our remaining three.

Two of our 110s were lost to sticky grass.

I got screwed up , my initial plan was to stage both the 4th and JG 51 at Rupel Pass but realized on Sunday there was not enough bases in the area. In fact we did not have enough airfields for our force at all. If our turnout had been what it was supposed to some squads would have been forced to fly 110s out of towns with an airfield or be way back at the MOB.
