23rd
Field 16 - A6M and 60kg bombs

Patrol the south-west section of 'The Slot' and the New Georgia Islands. Look for US Shipping and static ships, report their location and headings on country channel and upon orders attack with bombs when support is vectored to you. Immediate support from the RCAF in the slot or Haizu over the islands. You may be called to support those two.

RCAF
Field 11 - A6M and 60kg bombs

Patrol the north-east section of 'The Slot' and the Choisel. Look for US Shipping and static ships, report their location and headings on country channel and upon orders attack with bombs when support is vectored to you. Immediate support is from 23rd patrolling to your south. You may be called to their support as well.

Haizu

Field 14 - A6M and 60kg bombs

Patrol the south of the Kolombangara and Rendova islands. Look for US Shipping and static ships, report their location and headings on country channel and upon orders attack with bombs when support is vectored to you. Immediate support is from the 23rd patrolling to your north. You may be called to their support as well.

Lf6

Field - Kido Butai Carriers - A6M and Drop Tanks

Patrol the remaining home islands for Allied Attacks on static ships and airfields. Most likely, you will be called to support the forward squads, so keep your patrol area to the east side of the islands, venturing no further west than the 2 longitude line. The Allies will be there in force so attack wisely and use our advantage of altitude.

KoN!

Fields 5 & 6 - Plane of choice for targeting shipping. Vector towards the area south of the Kaga Carriers and attack the shipping lanes supplying the Solomons from the north. Plan for multiple sorties and sneaky, in and out attacks. You cannot die. (GRIN)

NOTAMS
[*]Stay high and attack only when you have support and/or clear skies. Communicate with the frame CO to report ship sightings and headings and enemy contacts. I will do my best to vector in multiple squads for support. DO NOT ENGAGE ENEMY WITHOUT SUPPORT. Good hunting.

[*]If contact is made with the Allied Carrier within 50 miles of the front OR Choisel, I may vector a flight to CAP the carrier in a ruse to keep Allied cover isolated.

I was looking at the map, and I believe that F8 is a medium airfield and can only hold 2 steps.

The 23rd is listed as 3 steps so they should be based at 16 or 24 which are large airfields.
