Trigr=, Rock, Timos and Crommm and Pipe, Budman and Hammyg of Checkmates took off from from F90 in 190D9s at T + 33 and grabbed north to set up as buff shooters. Phenix was on GCI. We made a pass on the buffs over F55 but they were turning and we didn't get many good shots. Rock ditched into F70 and took over as GCI. We re-armed, Phenix launched and we grabbed northwest as the buffs were hitting F69. We found the buffs egressing east of F44 unescorted and got in several good passes. Trigr= shot down a buff and we rtb'd to F55 at T + 120.
Trigr=, Phenix and Crommm took off from F55 in 109Ds at T +140 and headed southeast to look for low Mossies rtbing from a strike in the northeast corner of the map. We didn't find them and rtb'd to F71 and stood down at T + 175.
Results: LAF56 closed, minor losses to the enemy buffs.
Kills: 1 (Trigr=.)
Losses: 0
Thanks to Sakai and Jugggo, the LW COs and Jabo and Roan, the S3 guys, for a fun frame.
Comments: The stripping was pretty good this frame, particularly considering that the buffs went shallow and our strippers didn't have a lot of time. If we had more than a three ship available for our second attack on the buffs when they were unescorted we could have done some real damage. We only have two more frames left in which to fly our second aircraft so we are going to need a stripper assignment in either Frame 4 or 5.
