Edits in redValiant warriors of the Emperor,
We have before a glorious opportunity to show a fat, bloated enemy the honor of the Empire of Japan! They have laid before us the Navy of the United States; moored and unprotected. We will strike hard and fast!
We will attack from the northwest and from the south.
Attack routes from carriersDoolittle Raiders and Nomads: Lift in B5N's (Kate), climb to 6,100 m (20,000'), take the northern route to the target. If possible, level bomb the target area from altitude and egress at altitude. (Hit Ford Field and the ships moored there.)
Luftflotte 6 and RCAF: Lift in D3A's (Val), climb to 6,100 m (20,000'), take the southern route to the target. Fly directly over your target, chop throttle, deploy dive brakes, and drop vertically onto your targets. (Hit Ford Field and the ships moored there.)
4th Fighter Group: Lift in A6M3's (bomb loadout optional) and escort the D3A's (Val) flying the southern route. When they dive, they will be vulnerable to Allied aircraft and need the extra protection. If you opt to take bombs, drop them onto targets of opportunity as you dive down with the D3A's. (Be mindful of wing loading in the dive.)8th Fighter Group: Lift in D3A's (Val), remain NOE and proceed to the target along the northern route. This will present a "hi-low" attack from the northwest and a high dive bomber attack from the south. We will need to decide how to commence the second wave depending on the response of the Allies. Remember, they will be allowed to attack our carriers.
I have some reconnaissance photos of the targets areas.
