As we climbed out and were approaching F100 for the start of our bar cap we were asked to check out smoke/action at 103. We found none and headed back to 100 to start our cap. Shortly thereafter we were asked to shadow our Northern group and support as necessary. When it was learned that they were not near the inbound enemy we continued our cap. Within 15 mins we spotted an NOE group of bombers inbound. As we dove to engage they showed to be B25's in a real tight group. To say the least they were tight and returning massive fire at us as we attacked. 2 of us went down to PK's and the other two exploded, with us downing 3 AI B25's. They still managed to hit some of their targets. We needed to be more disciplined in our attacks and would have been better off in fW190's or even the G6R6 for downing bombers I believe. Will do better the next time.
Very good plan dewolf!

Agreed Split, 190 or G6R6 are better match for the heavily gunned B25s. Attacking from dead 6 is certain death or loss of plane. Head On, high 6 or 45 degree off angle high-low passes about the only to safely bring one down. Can't stay on target long.
