Orders were to blind the enemy then pound them to dust.
Present for frame 5 were Muskyz, Gums, myself and special guest star =vslp= Gundoc had internet problems and arrived later.
It was decided we needed a lot of bombs so the HE111 with 8x 500kg bombs was the plane of choice.
There was some squabbling and alternate point of views presented but we all flew the HE111.
Climb south to rdv, picked up the 23rd fighter group and headed east to target. almost to target there were cons in the area so Besea ordered us south. OUr fighters took care of the enemy and we soon turned back to target. Unfortunately we were not hitting from the expected approach so the location of radar buildings along with our choice of small bombs left some of the targets alive. Besea was insistent that he wanted us to get in and get out... no loitering so we accepted our failure and continued to the next targets... similar results as we didn't kill everything we needed to. But we dropped on T56 and headed to home at F3.
Next mission was to finish off 80 and hit 100. we ended up closing both and dropping more bombs on 81 & 56.
again we landed and re-upped and made it to target in time to get some decent bomb runs thru the target area.
have no idea of how many targets we hit and how many points we got but we took our share down.
I think we might have lost 4 or 5 airframes to AAA and the bad guys all night.
Many thanks to the consistent and ever present fighter escort. There were always friendlies around to take care of any bad guys.
also, well done for vslp.. he performed with great precision and is always welcome to fly with us.
Thank you Jabo for creating our little slice of "reality".....
Merry Christmas to everyone, I hope santa brings you all a shiny new F-86 to play with
