been putting in allot of thought from what i learned from frame 1..found out buff tough set high, the A-8 struggled, for us the high value point in killing the buffs. i intend to go after them aggressively this frame..

were going to make one big wing and wait for the enemy buffs to come to us . i positioned the RV point in middle of map so we can vector any where..i'm putting up buff killers in 110G-2's with cannon pods.TGT buffs. escort strippers you know what to do arrive ahead of the 110's and disrupt confuse scatter the enemy fighters. i don't know how long we will haft to loiter in RV box before enemy buffs appear.

our RV box wil be F122, 120 113,112.. or the 11,5,x

Knights- F95 roll T+0 Hawk, strikers take 110G-2's with cannon pods. and do you're thing.. blow ships up..but be careful be smart and for goodness sakes watch the ships mast bubble..
Swanee you guys up as buff killer's take the 110G-2 with cannon pods and DT's... go to RV point and hook up with the AE's so all 110's are together and strippers

AE's- F173 you are designated buff killers 110G-2's with cannon pods and DT's when cleared to roll go to RV point.wait to be vectored to incoming raid

475th- F92 AC you're choice.you are designated escort strippers.when cleared to roll RV with attack goup. wait to be vectored to incoming raid. might think of DT don't know how long the wait will be

LF6- F122 AC you're choice.you are designated escort strippers . when cleared to roll RV with attack group wait to be vectored to incoming raid might want to think of fuel DT dont know how long well haft to wait

good luck gents lets have some fun

:?: still scratching my head why, especially at this stage in 1944, the G-6 gondolas isn't an option. You can still limit the selection as one airframe because that's what it is... Anywhere a G-6 is, a G-6/RVI gun package is also there. No different than selecting weapon sets in the drop down menu.

Use either and you've used your G-6. Pretty simple. Same rules should apply to any other gun pod setup.

The 109G-6/RVI is available. I just pulled up the S3 arena and this plane is an option. RVI is the package R6 which installed the two wing cannon pods.

More important question is. Has the buff tough been reduced to historic standards. Or are we in for another slaughter of whole squadrons of fighters by single bombers again? Until we verify this probably won't mater what we fly against the Klingon vessels.
(crazy: Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.)
(USAF: when changing=, Inspect=, test=, verify=, only then combat.) Wonder if rockets will kill them. In real world WWII. If one rocket hit almost assured the destruction of bomber type aircraft.

Second is: Has the 190A-8 been brought back to historic performance settings so it can even intercept the bombers? After all it was historically the most devastating bomber interceptor in the German arsenal. They have had a week to work on that.

I read through all I could from previous weekend and haven't seen anything addressing these issues with jabo. Maybe I just missed it.

Just did my usual pre-S3 update. Based on that, I'd say the 190A8 is unchanged from last week.

LF6 rcvd orders <{S}>

IF any changes are to be made it would happen when Dawger returns from vacation. It is under review with the FM team. Just remember burn through your DT first, use Boost 2 when establishing a climb (after you have gained plenty of forward speed) once you see your RoC become non profitable, get out of boost 2 (100% throttle) and gain forward airspeed again and once airspeed is regained continue climb profile in boost 2 and repeat as necessary.

BF110G.
Besea and I did verification tests (110G vs B17G)

Its good to know the 110 took the B17 apart readily.
I don't like that they messed with auto on the B17G "just another unnecessary, none historic, setting". It now allows the fighter to just sit there with little chance of destruction.

But the subject is will the 110 guns be able to take down a B17 that has "unhistorical" 2.0 hardness.
Answer: YES!
note: In real life the 30mm gun was an ineffectual gun beyond 300 yards. The shells would literally fall out of the sky at much greater distance.
In Warbirds it appears this is accurate.
The bomber in wb I flew was sustaining damage at D5 range (20mm fire).
However when Besea corrected fire and closed to D3 and under, my bomber literally flew apart. Ammo expended was 50%.
So until D3 or less should use other guns for ranging, pulling the trigger on the 30mm when in range.

Now if we can just get past their fighters.

I think the issue is the bomber FM and not the 190 so much.

Besea - no clue how the points will fall, but the plan seemed pretty decent. The 475th encountered MANY P-47 escorts, and engaged as many as we could. To our surprise, the P-47's that we encountered were quick to dive out below the bombers. We attempted to stay high to molest as many P-47's as we could. Once they seemed "well scattered", we started pursuing with prejudice. We fought as long as fuel allowed, then recycled and went hunting over the channel where we managed to tangle with members of the Allied 352nd FG. Dobs and Tenyru claimed at least 2 members of the 352nd. Gflyer, Saspin, and myself managed another couple, but lost Gflyer in the process.

This frame was the 475th's 2nd frame with the 109 G14. For the record, the G14 the correct weapon of choice to deal with the high altitude Allied fighters. No clue why the P-47 pilots were so quick to dive out last night, as that should have been their best high altitude fighter. Once they lost altitude, they took longer to climb back up than the G14 did. Guess the 475th will be saying goodbye to the G14 for the next 3 frames :(

Good plan Besea.

LF6 managed to engage a few of the escorts also and claimed four of them. It seems that 352nd flew a mixed bag as we did claim one Spit. LF6 will likely grab G14s next frame depending on mission assignment. We got the A8 out of our system first frame. :)
