Objectives (simple!):
Allies – successfully bomb the selected target and return home (o/t LAF-44 heading westbound) with as many bombers as possible.
Axis – destroy the bomber stream before it passes F44 westbound.

Allies have 10K airstart at LAF-44 simulating a channel crossing by the bomber stream. Target for Tonight, at Grump's discretion, is one of City-78, City-79 or City-80. Only one city may be attacked.
Bombing altitude is 20K or below. Bombers must remain in the airspace bounded by neutral fields. No creative thinking and colouring outside the lines!

MAINFORCE: Bomber stream to be simulated by Grump and one other player flying the Lancaster with three wingmen each. Use of the bomber login VERY STRONGLY ENCOURAGED
Buffs will be escorted by the remaining Allied players flying Mosquito NF.IIs.

PATHFINDERS: One (1) additional Allied player will act as Pathfinders, flying the Mossie B.IV with one AI wingman loaded with Target Markers (4lb Incendiaries).
They must mark the selected target at least 5 minutes, but not more than 10 minutes before the Main Force drop.
Target marking must occur at or below 15,000ft. To execute marking, the target must be in the crosshairs of the bombsite and roughly ½ of the bomb load dropped. NB: Salvo command does not seem to work with the Incendiaries. Recommend pre-event testing by the Pathfinder pilot.
Below 1000ft use of the bombsite not required, just drop while overflying the target.
A successfully marked target doubles MAIN FORCE bomber effectiveness.

Players using the bomber login must only have one type of aircraft in their formation! No mixing Lancs and Mossies

ECM: Once during the frame the Allies may drop WINDOW. (Grumpy to order). All Axis radar will be disabled for 15 minutes.

LUFTWAFFE: Axis get to fly the Bf 110G-2 from any gold airfield. No teleporting, please.

Radar: Allies 10 mi tower view only. Axis 40 mi with inflight radar to simulate GCI and AI radar systems. Min radar altitude 200 ft
Flak: Max alt 25,000ft. Flak at neutral fields will fire at both Green and Gold aircraft.
Weather: A clear night
Min fuel fighters and bombers: 75% (forced)

Each pilot has three lives. Mainly an advantage for the defenders.
PK, Crash, ditch, bail, DISCO with damage count against a life.

Provisional side assignments:
Allied: 23rd (3), RCAF (3), 4th (1)
Axis: 352nd (3), okdoc-, spider, other lone wolves.
Will side-balance as required if we have more players.

If this is vaguely successful, will swap sides and re-run on Dec 8th.

Rules edited to account for bomber login hard coded limit of max 3 wingmen.
To compensate for the lower number of bombers, buff hardness upped from 1.0 to 1.5.
