ROAD RAGE will be a four frame series. Each frame is 2 hours long. After the first two frames players will switch colours and feel the other side's pain. Players in formed squads or lone wolves are welcome to participate. Frame 1 starts 2030hrs EST, Sunday 18 Feb 2024 and ends at 2230hrs. Frame 2 Sunday 25 Feb Frame 3 Sunday 3 Mar Frame 4 Sunday 10 Mar Canyon terrain. The arena will be open for practice during the week from Wednesday until 1800hrs EST Sunday afternoon. *************************************************************** IJA (RED) and US Army (GRN) AI truck convoys are advancing along the road on the canyon floor. Each convoy contains 4 AI trucks. These trucks represent the lead elements of each army. The US Army convoy (GRN) will depart from F40. The IJA convoy (RED) will depart from F69. When a convoy reaches a field along the canyon floor or is abeam of a field, it will be captured and rebuild. A new convoy of four trucks will spawn from that point and continue advancing. Objective: Destroy the enemy's truck convoys and prevent them from capturing fields. Lose as few aircraft as possible while doing so. Of Note: Fields do not need to be closed for capture to occur. Neutral fields will not fire at AI trucks or player aircraft. Destroyed truck convoys will respawn from the last captured field. All bridges are now made of Vibranium and are REALLY REALLY hard to destroy. Don't waste ammo/ordnance on them. RADAR IS UNAVAILABLE FOR BOTH SIDES. Plane set: Green: P-36C Hawk, P-40N-5 Warhawk, P-47C Thunderbolt. Initially available from F36 and F40. Red: Ki-43-II Oscar, Ki-44-IIb Tojo, Ki-61-Ib Tony. Initially available from F85 and F69. Aircraft will be available at F49 and F61 after those fields are captured. Choose a side (RED or GREEN) and stay there for the night unless told otherwise by a CM. Initially RCAF, 4th, 23rd to start IJA. Intent is to have sides equally balanced. Each player has three lives, one in each a/c type. Frame Timings: T+0 (2030hrs EST) flight enabled T+110 (2220hrs EST) Cease air/ground combat and RTB. AI routines unloaded. T+120 (2230hrs EST) Frame ends. Flight disabled. Lights out. Scoring: 5 VPs for each field captured and held at the end of a frame. 1 VP for each enemy aircraft lost. Largest total after four frames declared the series winner. Comms Choice of comms method is up to the individual player. Voice comms make coordination much easier. What is a capture based on? Number of trucks that made the journey? Number of troops to tower? <S> |

Capture is based on one of the trucks making it to an arbitrary point in a field, not the tower, or abeam the field if it is across the river. When a truck reaches that point the field will automatically be captured. No requirement to close the field. Neutral fields will not fire, but trucks approaching a field that was captured by the other side will have to get past the AAA and AT guns. If they are still up, success is highly unlikely. |
