New inflight map on website
http://www.squadselectseries.com

IL2s worked better in Frame 2 so will return to the original scoring. Look for them to be even tougher in Frame 3 but not smarter, most didn't attack their targets very well or at all. Player flown IL2s succumbed easily enough to flak and ship masts though. No AI wingman for the IL2 for some reason. Will try and correct.
Front has moved slightly west as the Soviet invasion force grinds away at the Axis defences. Front is now just west of 194/78 the scene of heavy fighting last frame. The VVS gain two more airfields in the area so the fight will be once more very intense. Glad to see much of the fight has been at historic Russian Front altitudes.

Away from home until Thursday so will update the summary score and PDF then. Muzz is back so expect a professional inflight DDS soon after that.

This will get you started planning though.

Salute!

Updated needed when you log in to the S3 arena.

1. Various field fixes on bounding boxes etc to correct sticky grass or uneven elevations. Enlarged some of the bounding boxes to give more of a fudge factor at some fields. Added a fence before the landing strip on F8 to indicate the dip before landing. If you land short you will hit a cliffside where the fence is. Most of the others were bounding box and spawn point fixes.
2. Added new textures with less saturation to make spotting ground targets and low a/c easier.
3. Put back in some tree clutter to see if that helps judge the ground orientation better. Clutter is all FE and like puffy clouds is not in the same place for everyone so this is not good for the tank game and some video cards/system settings.
4. Made the Muzz Map the standard inflight dds. You will still have to put in the frame specific inflight map to get those details but at least everyone will have the same base map with indicated bridges and names and such. Would like to make the Muzz Map standard on all new terrains.

Will have summary results up to day. Rushing to get this out first.

New planning PDF map up with inflight dds showing closed fields frontline and AI routes.

Allies struck back in frame 2 despite heavier losses especially in experienced air crews KIA. Major difference was their ability to get their Sturmoviks in and hit the Axis evacuation shipping off Sevastopol. They also targeted the three ports along the SE coast of the Crimea gaining good points there. Axis fighters mainly choose to defend their airspace in Frame 2 and did not attack enemy ground targets like in frame 1. Though many IL2s were downed both player and AI this could not make up the difference.
The Soviets take a slight lead going into frame 3 standing at 125 to 121.

Sorry for the delay but you should have everything to plan now.

Good Luck in Frame 3.

Do we need to do an update to correct the sticky grass?

Yes that is the main reason this was released. It was in the works with a major update for all terrains but we needed it now.
