Salute!

Salute to you, Fencer.

Only dinosaur vets now flying WB that I recall are Pappy, Bombr and Gums. That's the FUBAR war 40 years ago.

The next generation includes Dobs and some grunts ( Chunky?)

We have a decent representation here of actual vets and even some combat to add.

Our stupid war in the 60's had folks spitting on us at the airport if we came back on a commercial flight. So I only had to endure that once in late 1968. I came back on a military transport in 1973, and in 1975 I had the honor of leading the last flight of attack jets outta the whole damned war! I had closure to ten years outta my life and my wife's. Kids were too young to understand what I was doing.

I am impressed that we are now showing some degree of thanks and empathy for our troops.

On Monday raise a toast to those that served and especially for those that gave their all of old. And don't forget those here and there that are currently serving their country.

Gums sends...

"God in your guts, good men at your back, wings that stay on - and Tally Ho!"

PS: that wasn't you that almost ran into us was it?
Clear blue sky one moment. Ass end of F100D in burner popped up in our windscreen next. Swear could almost feel the heat.
If it was you, you missed us. Hope you hit what you dropped on down below. Was pretty spectacuar.
Don't think that pilot even knew were were in the air. He must have lifted when he rolled over for his dive in and was probably looking at the ground.
