Pat Pattle would have been pleased. Frame 1 of HOG in the new Greece terrain saw hurricanes dominate Goering's ironsides, claiming 24 confirmed kills to the axis 13. Hurricanes joined RAF Blenheims to take out crucial staging areas for the initial German attack on Greece. 3 tanks units, 1 GAF and a village base were closed by RAF attacks while bridges at 73 were taken out. German attacks were not so lucky with the initial attack on radar at 61 unsuccessful and a British tank unit in the west heavily damaged but not closed by Stukas which were jumped by roving hurricanes and lost much of their force. Stukas did initially take down 50 very quickly before enemy air cover moved to the west.

The Luftwaffe fielded mainly a 110 and Stuka force in Frame 1 with a few 109s sprinkled in to keep the Hurricanes looking over their shoulders. The 110s proved to be a disappointment only claiming 4 of the 13 kills with the few 109s getting the majority.

Initial worries about the state of AAA in the arena were unfounded as only three 110s were claimed by enemy ground fire.

The Greek army bolstered by excellent RAF air support threw back the German Panzers and mountain troops along the Metaxas Line. Their ground closures gained them 14 locations while the Axis gained 2. As a result 12 enemy locations fell to advancing Greek troops. The line in the east has moved but unfortunately for the allied cause Yugoslavia fell easily to German panzers and a huge gap has now opened in the allied defences. British air units have been forced to regroup and move back into Greece proper to support their ground units there.

Turnout was relatively even and not what was projected, summer falloff may have started. Scoring adjusted to be even between both sides, both RAF and Axis can get credit for bridges and tanks destroyed as well as target locations.

Minor issues reported with the new terrain, first update was before the frame. Expect one or two more as play progresses.

FOR FRAME 2

1. New frontline with allied advances in the NE from frame 1 results.
2. Axis may fly from any field on their side of the front line. Yugoslavia has fallen to the axis and panzers are poised to exploit the Monastir Gap.
3. No ground attacks in columns 7-12. Focus of air action turns west to Albania and the Yugoslavian frontier. Air units may base at fields in these columns but no attacks on ground location here.
4. Object class PDF on the mainpage. Should help with the different terrain objects and relative damage values. New terrains are quite different than what you see in the MA so some switching of types has occurred. This should help explain the OT class you see in the .show. Will be expanded upon as terrains develop.

Thanks again for beta testing the greece terrain.
Good Luck in Frame 2!

Just a question both sides will ask. If a squad is based in column 7, then they can fly and attack in columns 6 and lower, but their location is safe since no ground attacks (i.e. airfields, DAR, etc) can happen?

Thats right Beaver. There may be a few border airfields each side may use but generally the attacks will shift westward. Too hard to defend everywhere with the size of the terrain and numbers.
