at the end of Frame 2 Nightstalkers attacked a cv group up north.
upon egress we were jumped by zeros of the 23rd I believe.

All of us were shot down (4) however both Mtdew & myself ditched after sustaining heavy damage... ok, I ditched with no elevator or flaps and dew drug a wing in the water.

upon exiting the planes we were both credited with exiting the airframe. There was no kill message and the log credited us with landing. We both were happy to be alive, but credit for 2 more TBD's shot down should go to whomever was defending the cv.

Coolone, thanks for stepping up. Grumpy and I were the two zekes that shot you down. I saw two kills in the buffer for myself and I was sure I got another one. I was watching as Grumpy shot up another and it drug and wing and turned into a flame ball on the water. I was suprised that no kills were awarded for the other two. I'm not sure if anything can be done by Jabo or Phoenix, but a big SALUTE for bringing this up. ~S~

They might have been safe ditches at least 1 foot closer to an Allied base, another WB's quirk.

Yep, had 2 such "kills" when forcing planes, engine dead, to ditch 50+ miles out from land in a recent pacific series. Both were logged as "safe landings". Could it be possible to make bases have a certain "safe ditch" maximum radius, if you land outside it you are a "kill" in the buffer, but pilot still isn't captured if a friendly field is closest?

A big <S> to the NS for their sportsmanship.

If a plane turns into a "ball of flame" how could that be a safe ditch :o

This issue has been brought up before and for now it appears the safe ditch thing is with us until its fixed in the code.

We all have our favourite sports and when we see good sportsmanship we applaud it.
Certainly will be a kill in the scoring for the frame but need to see if the log can be edited. Since its easy to want to edit the log for everything and this is nobody's full time job, it would have to be glowing acts of sportsmanship like this that warrant it.

Grumpy should get the credit for my a/c although he is lucky cause I was turning back into him to unleash a torrent of 50 cal from my TBD but that wave to wing thing happened instead. Wilz I managed a couple hits on you until the nose of that beast would just raise no more. <S>

Mt-dew you really got the blood pressure up with that move, I thought I was going to erupt in fire. Heard a ping and broke hard hoping you couldn't get the nose around any more.

Again, I want everyone in the S3's to understand what a Class Act your squad is. It's been a long time since we flew together, however I always smile when I think of a certain S3 where we escorted and helped you guys close a field deep in enemy territory. Well planned and executed, VF101 really enjoyed and learned from you guys. ~S~

It's refreshing to see the type of sportsmanship and fair play you guys give to the S3's.

I plan on fixing this in the database when I get a chance. I can turn the safe landings into ditches and add a kill message.

Thanks every on for being clear on this issue.
