Post subject:  S3 #124 FAER Frame 1 Scoring

Light turnouts
Allied 25 Axis 12, 37 pilots total.

The Allies brought the bombs, but the Axis brought the guns.

Allies CLOSED four fields (HQ 116, Tank 120, Arty 122 and HQ 138) and disrupted supply lines by destroying bridge spans south of Arty 134 and MAF 136.
As a result all Axis fields east of HQ 116 and south of Arty134/MAF136 were "out of supply" at end of frame. Note that while the road junction NE of MAF 167 would normally connect F114 and F118, it is behind Allied lines which blocks re-supply.
Fields 120 and 122 are ruled as CAPTURED, advancing the front.
Axis HQ 116, was closed and "in supply" at the end of the frame and will be open for frame 2.
Axis HQ 138 was closed and "out of supply" at frame end and will be closed for frame 2.
However, prior to frame 2 start Axis combat engineers will have rebuilt the bridge spans south of Arty134 and MAF136. This will restore supply to HQ136 and unless interrupted, HQ136 will reopen in frame 3.
For field CLOSURES, CAPTURES and destruction of critical infrastructure, Allied scored 77.5 VPs

The Axis focused almost exclusively on A-A combat and did not destroy any ground structures.
Axis aircraft losses were very light; losing 10 single engine fighters, 1 Bf110 and having only three pilots KIA/captured.
Allied losses were severe; 63 aircraft were lost and 61 pilots KIA/captured. Axis fighter shot down 39 fighters and 10 B-25Cs, while AAA brought down another 7 fighters.

Frame Scoring
Allied......101 VPs
Axis........209 VPs
Major axis victory.

Scoring summary details are posted here.

Next frame sees the Commonwealth Air Forces taking on the Luftwaffe.
In future frames Allied will need to balance A-G efforts with air superiority.
New planning and inflight maps should be available Thursday night.
