Details here. Axis executed an excellent maritime search, locating and attacking Ark Royal and her escorts. After repeated attacks by jabo 110s, Ark Royal, pride of the Fleet Air Arm, was sunk. Not to be outdone, the RAF successfully located and sank five marauding U-Boats. It was the raid on Wilhelmshaven that proved the RAF's undoing. While several merchant ships and one destroyer were sunk at dock, U-boats and the rest remaining Kriegsmarine warships received only minor damage. 25 Wellingtons were lost. Axis Victory, scoring 150 pts to the Allied 139. One shipping attack occurred just after T+180 and the kill of one allied destroyer was discounted. As discussed in another thread, IAW long standing rules, all players must in the tower or about to land at T+180. For S3 (but not S6c) scoring purposes, players not meeting the above conditions are considered lost and the pilot killed. Two Wellingtons were still airborne and scored as lost. Three 109s and 2 110s were also scored as lost. |
