Rules in addition or in replacement of regular S3 rules: Each side is responsible for knowing the rules. The janitors go over the log after the frame and look for unusual activity (airframes, bomb loads, etc) •Penalty: Penalty flights will be given out for infractions. The penalty flight must be flown first in the next frame. If the player is not present, another player from that squad must act as a substitute and fly the penalty. •Aircraft: Each side will be given aircraft assignments with a minimum requirement for certain airframes. Know the requirements. Flying the wrong aircraft will result in a penalty. Again, janitors go over the log and will know what aircraft are being launched. The S3 team has worked hard to create ’stand-in’ aircraft for historical airframes currently not available. Bombers: No CA login. No ai this series. •Radar: 15 mi. For game play, reflecting ground spotters, there will be no min radar altitude. (no NOE) There was no Japanese radar and little British radar historically. • FOM scoring: This was a very one sided battle historically. The Japanese had overwhelming numbers in the air. This will be reflected in squad assignments. However scoring is going to be adjusted to ‘even’ up the sides. While there will be no ground war in this S3 (meaning no AI or player GVs), we can all assume that the ground war is happening. As a result, the Japanese are going to push the front South to Singapore. Which side wins or loses will be determined by how effectively sides achieve their missions objectives, destroy enemy aircraft, ground targets and mission targets. In general, Axis scores points for closing field locations, Allied score points for destroying individual objects that would help slow the Axis advance. See Scoring spreadsheet. Target recon in advance of a frame will be very important this series. Preparations between frames will be critical for success. •Objectives: Each side will be given a MISSION OBJECTIVE for each specific frame. (check the S3 Forum!) You are responsible for knowing the mission objective BEFORE the event starts. There may be field closures for fields included in your weekly Mission Objectives, however there will be no trooping. Front lines will automatically move each week as per the historical battle. All other normal S3 rules apply: No teleporting (except after a penalty flight) 3 lives per player etc etc. |

All links on the HomePage still refer to the Kursk event. The write-up above says little in rules we could consider new for the FOM event and referrs us to the aforementioned links. |
