FRAME 1: June 1944
Intense fighting ensued all along the Normady front on the ground and in the air. Allied bombers pulverized German forces along the front lines.
American and British forces entered several towns and villages and managed to control the airfield at Cherbourg for a short period of time.
However a fierce counter attack by the German's forced the allied troops out of the airfield and kept them from maintaining control
of the towns and villages. The Luftwaffe strafed and bombed unprotected allied ships at anchor in the channel.

FRAME 2: July 1944
In the weeks following the invasion, the allies' overwhelming thrust managed to force the German's to retreat back into France.

With the Germans on the run, the allies push towards Paris with the goal to liberate France.
