No S3 April 12, HAPPY EASTER
FRAME 5 April 19
*********News Flash********* Nov, 1943
The Americans continue to take ground, pushing the front forward through the Solomons. However their heavy concentration on offense and lack of defense has left conquered fields vulnerable to attack. The Japanese forces exploited this vulnerability with a strike on Villa Airfield F37 and the Coastwatchers along Choiseul Island. A heavy blow to the Americans was the sinking of their 3rd and last aircraft carrier. The Americans are now totally reliant on their land bases to get the job done.
However despite the few offensive pushes from the Japanese, the American forces continue their aggressive push. The Japanese have only a small foothold on the Western edge of Bougainville and Buka Islands and hold an airbase cutoff from the main force. If the Americans continue their successful push, the Japanese will be forced to retreat to Rabaul.
