Suggest a new catagory: "Death or Airframe Loss by Collision"
since collisions seem to be the #1 loss by players.

Fencer

The log does capture an event called MIDAIR that is supposed to be death by collision. However, I don't think it captures all of the deaths by collision and some get logged as EXPLOSION for example, or a BAIL if only damage occurs

That said, I ran a query over the last 5 years of events looking for MIDAIR. I think we can still use it as an indicator. As a percentage of all deaths by series:

This shows OSL as an outlier for collisions. There's also a slight rise overall when S3 went to more than one life (somewhere around SOF). I doubt collision code changed over this time and I know from experience it has been an issue for a long time. I am guessing when we played with only one life, we were careful to not get as close for fear of the collision bubble ruining our night. This is only a theory, however.

I also looked at MIDAIRs by pilot per sortie, and by plane per sortie for the same time period. There were no outliers here meaning the effect is generally the same for everyone and irrelevant of what they are flying.
