http://www.squadselectforum.com/CD/CDsummary.pdfIn the squalls and dirty spring weather of the Channel the Kriegsmarine fleet slowly plowed toward the Strait of Dover. The RAF had to come in low to attack and the fearsome FW190s were waiting. The took a steady toll of the attacking Wellingtons and Boston bombers. During the melee that swirled over the central Channel the RAF lost a total of 30 bombers and 3 strike Hurricanes. One bomb was seen to impact the trailing battlecruiser and their was reports a low Hurricane may have strafed or bombed the lead battlecruiser. Another escorting destroyer was damaged by a bomb but could still make way. The German fleet would make good its escape past Dover to the embarrassment of the British and Churchill in particular. What saved the day for the British was the stellar performance of their escorting Spitfire wings. For a loss of 21 they claimed 43 enemy aircraft downed, 21 of them the feared Focke-Wulfs. Much of this came after the bombers had exhausted their attacks but the Luftwaffe still have to protect their battle fleet. The days of the Focke-Wulf scourge could be said to be over even as Spitfire IXBs roll off the assembly line.
Frame was basically a tie, still have to update with the S6 pilot loss records. Allies shotdown 48 aircraft and the Luftwaffe 54. Luftwaffe will still have the lead going into Frame 3.
Frames 3-5 represent the epic air battle at and around Dieppe during the Canadian raid on the town. Full sunny day no low light conditions. Aircraft have changed slightly with the Allies getting the Spitfire IXB and early Tiffy while the Luftwaffe get the Bf109G6. Allies have RADAR at their fleet but none on the mainland.
Map updated to show the two operational zones.
Luftwaffe may ONLY attack the Allied invasion fleet off Dieppe. All static and AI shipping at Dieppe, landing on its shores or in the port. AI shipping will be moving and anchored. Expect to see heavy AAA down low. As stated in the rules any pilot may fly the penalty plane(Do17) in place of one of their aircraft types. If you so choose you can fly 1-3 Do17 lives for 1-3 of your aircraft types.
Allies may attack airfields, towns, ports, artillery and bridges/tunnels in the indicated area. This includes the town and port of Dieppe but NOT the static ships there. They get points for structures but not AAA. Relative points indicated on the summary. Its important to know what to target.
Good Luck in Frame 3
