In frame 3 the Allies concentrated in one area in southern Holland around Utrecht. Several mid altitude B25 attacks was covered by a high effective screen of Spitfire XIVs. So effective where they that during the night 34 enemy fighters were shot down by them for the loss of only 9, 3 of which were claimed by the always deadly German flak. German interceptors were split 50/50 between 109s and 190s and though suffering heavier losses still accounted for 22 enemy bombers while 9 Luftwaffe fell to the twin-engine Mitchells. Damage to the complex defensive positions at T41 was extensive as the Mitchells returned three times to hit it and the nearby airfield. But the fierce defense by the Luftwaffe did not allow them to find all the needed targets in time so the tac field and F111 were not closed. German strikes were limited to hitting 36 and 114 sinking a few boats and setting fire to some reserve aircraft.
For the first time the Allies outscored the Luftwaffe in kills 47 to 34. But the most damaging factor was in the individual point scores where the Germans really took a beating. The Luftwaffe had -5.75 pts while the Allies had 37.05 pts. This would give the Allies their first win 125 to 97 but the Germans still lead the series 493 to 420.
In Frame 4 the advance of XXX Corps has finally taken Nijmegan(T38) and they are closing in on Arnhem where the beleaguered 1st Airborne is fighting for their lives against a German SS division.
In Frame 4-5 each side has different aircraft to choose from. Again one life per aircraft type. The superiority of the Spitfire XIV will now be tested by the newest German fighters, the Bf109K4 and FW190D9.
