I see the German bombers (FW190F) in keeping with their mission profile managed to shoot down 4 Allied Bombers. Not in keeping with a bomber mission.

So are you going to attempt to convince me that a LW fighter-bomber pilot participating in a bombing mission would not attack a low flying sortie of Allied bombers? Why wouldn't they? The Allied fighter/bombers did it frequently. They even dropped ordinance and engaged fighter aircraft when the opportunity arose.

Having been in this exact situation many times in the past...

The only time I can think of where Strike planes have NOT been allowed to engage enemy aircraft was when flying ME-262s. That was specifically spelled out in the rules.

Oh the Me262, what a bone of contention. Gave those rules to the NS and they were exemplary in carrying them out.
Not a huge amount of bombers shotdown by FW190F8s considering there heavy losses mostly to the MC205 uberspagetti.
