In the first frame of the series the Allies went south targeting the three coastal radar sites along the coast to Normandy. A total of eight missions were assigned with B25Js and two types of mossies tasked with taking them down. The attacks on F100, F133 and F168 radar installations were timed right but the Luftwaffe was lucky for them patrolling not far away and several intense battles soon came down to the waves. Escorting Spits tried to help but at least 18 B25Js and Mossie bombers were lost. Both radar stations were destroyed and later in the night F133 was finally closed. Thirteen defending German fighters were claimed in the battle, 6 to guns of the B25s. In the end 35 Allied aircraft were claimed for 13 Luftwaffe losses. Three radar installations were destroyed and a boat sunk at 126.
German victory in frame 1. They scored 89 to 60 over the Allies. Though outnumbered 43 to 23 they concentrated well and inflicted heavy losses to the two allied bomber types.
Notes:
1. Some reports on the Dh98 IVB being "difficult" Could be because its an unusual plane to fly with outstanding performance capabilities. Worth a checkup by the FM team.
2. With only 9 out of 43 allocated to strike the Allies need to dedicate more pilots to at least the Typhoon so a wider range of targets can be hit or finished off. Down low the Typhoon and Mossie FB are tough to catch so precision strikes are possible.
