The final frame of the event saw a straight up showdown between B24s straight down the middle and defending Japanese interceptors. Both Allied players B24Js and AI formations came in directly to the south region of Kyushu with heavy escort by F4U4s. The latest USN fighter. The first attack came in to hit Kagoshima a small industrial city in the southwest and the port at Ibusuki. Intercepting fighters were ready and in heavy fighting both in and out of the area seven B24Js and seven F4U4s were lost. Only 4 intercepting Japanese fighters were lost but heavy damage was done to the ships at the port and moderated damage to the industrial area of Kaogshima.

The fighting became more desperate in the second sortie to hit the ports again and another industrial area to the northeast. Thirteen B24s were shot down and three escorting corsairs while the Japanese losses mounted through the rest of the night. In the end a total of 12 fighters were claimed shot down by the Americans. More ships were sunk with a total of ten during the night going beneath the waves. Two industrial areas had moderate damage with many bombs falling short of their intended targets.

A total of 16 Japanese fighters were claimed during the night and US losses amounted to 31, with 11 of them being fighter escorts and the remainder B24Js.
Basically the final frame was a draw with the allies having less than a point advantage. They would go on and win the series by an equally narrow margin 605 to 598.

A good series hampered by limited rules for AI formation control as well as spiking wing breaks visited upon the Japanese fighters due to over sensitive control changes. CA login continues to frustrate down low on the deck where your planes can get trapped as well causing micro warps when players switch bombers in flight. Something probably not seen when it is used as a land interface with tanks. The fragile nature of AI planes makes otto their only defense and we saw multiple heavy bomber kills in a row.
