http://www.squadselectseries.com - new map and summary up

The US struck out of Okinawa to silence the radar and airfields northeast of their newly captured bases. Using B25s with strong cover by USMC Corsairs and USAAF P47Ds they pushed north where there sweep was intercepted by the best the Imperial Japanese could put up. 189 radar and 190 airfield were hit hard and closed before the first kills were logged. Two fighters from each nation were claimed as the USAAF bombers retreated back to their bases.

A large strike by USN TBFs came in just south of Kyushu to hit F182 about this time and was intercepted by waiting Japanese N1K1-Js. A fierce fight between escorting F4Us followed the TBFs all the way in as they dived to cause extensive damage to the southern most airfield. 15 avengers and 7 corsairs were shotdown in this running battle for the loss of two N1K1s.

Later in the day another strike by Okinawa B25s hit both F186 radar and the already damaged 182 airfield. This time the Japanese fighters pushed through the forward sweep to find the bombers knocking down two player B25s and 9 B25 drones. The cost was high though as 8 Ki84s were shotdown for the loss of 4 F4U1Ds.

Coordination was again excellent as a second TBF strike hit the 178 area just as the B25s were pursued south. Heavy damage was caused to 178 airfield and 179 port by the avengers but they were low and slow away from the attack and hit by Ki84s. 10 avengers and 2 corsairs were shotdown for the loss of two Franks.

Overall the IJ fighters shotdown 25 TBF-1Cs, 11 B25Js and 14 F4U1Ds. They lost 13 Ki84 Franks and 2 N1K1-J George fighters to the enemy.
Heavy damage was caused by the TBFs to 182, 178 and some ships at 179 and 181. Okinawa B25s closed 189 and 190 and almost finished off 186 and 182 later in the frame.

BDA and pilot losses need to be calculated from the S6. Japanese may have a slight lead in points but its a close frame.
F189 and F190 remain closed for the series.

Great coordinated plan by both Frame COs. Lots of intense fights and smart flying.

Good Luck in Frame 2

Notes

1. Updated FMs used in the first frame. FL2038 has new wings and a redesigned F6F5. Dont think anyone flew that one though. Please give any feedback on the new wing design and how the planes felt. Its really helpful to the FM team as feedback is limited in the MA.

2. AI aircraft in the mbls continue to be easy to cripple. Drone AIs much harder as you can see from the videos posted. Unfortunately cannot separate the two from the log for scoring.

3. Adjusted the scoring to reflect the the various AI mbls and aircraft and new objects in these terrain.
