The above video is a comparison of convergence distances of 300 and 600 yards for both the 7.7mm and 20mm.

I would have thought pushing convergence OUT to 600 yards would arc the bullet stream more. Does not seem to be the case. Open for discussion.

There is a global setting for each weapon that has amount of tracers, relative dispersion as well as velocity.
Since it is global you cannot just modify it for the S3s. Wish we could.

Jabo - I am not sure what you mean in your post.

Are you saying that the tracers do not reflect the correct 'path' of the bullet streams? English being second to my native Texan language, I lose things in translation. ~GRIN~

Just info:

On Ki-84 I use 375/275

Idea being convergence at 300 full weapons and 550 cross stream MGs to scare.
I do not fire cannon beyond D2 in Nihon aircraft. Having found no effects beyond D3 ever.

proffering....

Perhaps parking the plane to shoot at a building will give a better idea of dispersion?

This is a good test for dispersion.

Go offline and select the Sicily terrain.
Go to the bottom left airfield with all the spawn points.

Spawn points have a butt target starting at 100 yds and going to 1000yds. The very last one is at 1 mile and is for tank shooting.

Select the third one which is set for 300 yds and set your convergence at 300 yds.

Select your favourite 50 cal plane and go otr. Hit Control-S to bring up your crosshairs. Put it on the centre of the aircraft on the butt. Watch and see how the bullet patterns differ between say the F6F and P38. The stream is hitting at the proper point but the dispersion is different.

Now switch to say a 30 cal plane. Again you will see how dispersion effects where the bullets go up and down and right and left.

Now select the 6th spawn and set for 600 yds convergence. Retest.

Ctrl-S brings up the no aircraft just crosshairs. This allows you to tilt the aircraft to get the crosshairs centred. To get back to a new aircraft hit Ctrl-S again and you crash usually.

One interesting thing is going to the last 1000yd target and firing away on that. Pretty sure the 30cal little bullets dont even hit the target.
Ground pounders can go to the very last spawn and the target is set for 1 mile. Its for tank shots.

Also put a big circular bomb target in the same area. You can use the same command to move our bomber over top of the target to see bomb drop and how far out the blast effects the position targers at each ring. Havent tried that one much. More worried about getting the guns right.
