S3#101 – Killer Caldwell Arrives: North Africa - Summer 1941

Operation Battleaxe was a British Army operation during the Second World War in June 1941, to clear eastern Cyrenaica of German and Italian forces and raise the Siege of Tobruk. Crete had just fallen to German paratroopers and it was important that the British re-establish themselves in the Eastern Mediterranean. Tanks and aircraft were sent to Egypt to replenish worn out British equipment. The Axis were equally exhausted from their advances and Rommel was told to hold the line.

This series will highlight Caldwell's P40 Tomahawk and Marseille's Bf109 Emil match-up. Secondary support by the MC200 and Hurricane IIB will help with ground attacks on enemy tank columns. And just maybe the new Beaufighter will make an appearance.

This event features the Tobruk terrain and starts Nov 13th in the S3 Arena at 8:30PM Eastern/5:30 PM Pacific.

Major revision in S3 rules is allowing bomber\strike pilots 2 lives during a frame. Hopefully this will allow more bomber\strike sorties while still letting fighter squads fly fighters for most of the series.

Tomahawk is the P-40B version correct?

Serious question here.......should the 23rd be flying P40s? Seems only right.

What exactly does "limited" mean in the aircraft table list? :-)
