328th elected to take P-38Ls for this Frame and this is the video of us engaging a SCHWARM of 109s at 30K+ near F80 late into the frame. I believe they were inbound our buffs when we found them, and I'm not sure how many continued Southward and how many were left to engage us. I think we had at least 10 at anyone time to our 6, but we merged with at least 20 ...2 large groups and one smaller one (higher). Was pretty intense! Fun fights, chaotic to say the least, and this is what makes S3s great! It is in 1080P (for some reason my youtube defaults to 360p and I have to always change it) so be sure to select the highest resolution. http://youtu.be/M1CZxIhdiAw <S>! Dobs |

It all started with Epic yelling, "Banzai!" We tried to tell him that was the wrong S3 scenario. |

LOL! I think the call after that was "Hey I could use a hand down here..dragging 6!" followed by "Hey I could use another hand, dragging 3!" might have heard that a few more times from him:) Now if we can just get him to paint this on top of his aircraft! S! Dobs. That was a spectacular vid. The 1080 really sharpens things up. We were the fighters that hit the buffbox in that engagement but we only had fuel enough for a single run. We blew through the buffs guns blazing and kept right on trucking out the back and dove for a recovery at F68. As we approached the field I hollered 'Contact! Over the field!' to which Phenix replied 'Naw. They're friendly. There's no ack.' Right about then a plane blew up! I said "Negative! They're Bandits!" and we were well and truly in it! Nothing like arriving at a friendly field with a whole 4 minutes of fuel left in the middle of a furball with you guys! Only two of us made it down alive. Great fight! Crommm The Haze 100th FBG |

Cromm, it was a great fight indeed. We were looking to engage the LW before they got to the buffs...and did not realize we had a running engagement with multiple groups until after seeing posts. Thought I was clearing original cons off squaddies, not engaging new guys! Ah the fog of war! <S>! Dobs |

It's funny to hear disparaging comments about the .50s, on the other side it's "god these 20's suck!". Also amusing to hear similar wingman directives we are saying on the other side at almost the same time. Maybe one day if I can figure out a decent recording process without gumming up the S3 action we'll have a side-by-side comparison of one engagement. |

LOL...it always seems that way doesn't it zinhwk:) No matter what you are in, the other guy is faster, guns hit harder....lol... Now that would be cool to see side by side...synched up:) <S>! Dobs |
