Post subject: | FG2 Frame 2 Summary |
http://www.squadselectseries.com - new map, A\C table and summary up Frame 2 saw the Luftwaffe outnumbered for most of the night and with the majority of their fighters in 110s it was not surprising the Allies attacked well in the south. While the Luftwaffe did well supporting the main attack against Holland hitting T38 and causing it to be captured by ground forces the could not stop the well coordinated Allied attacks from T50 to M52 and M65 and even later against M66 and M82. But late in the frame determined He111s did return and despite heavy losses closed both M52 and M65. Ground forces were confused and chaos reigned or they would have pushed on to support this success. RAF Wellingtons hit target after target with much fewer losses, only 7 Wellingtons were claimed during the night to 24 He111s and this would be the difference in point totals. But nevertheless the back and forth combat was intense and both sides used their limited resources well, hitting targets they could damage and score well against. The French Hawk 75s ruled the twin-engined Bf110s claiming 20 kills during the night, 14 of which were Goerings Ironsides. The 110s could only claim 6 kills during the night, only 3 of them Hawks. The RAF continues to play a supporting roll with its Hurricanes claiming 7 enemy aircraft during the night. The Luftwaffe is concerned and has brought in a second unit of Bf1109E4s to try and regain their air superiority. JG23 has been upgraded and may fly this aircraft for the remainder of the series. The Allies have won their second frame, 81 to 64. They lead the series 139 to 115, so its close. The front has moved in the north. T38 is German to begin play in Frame 3. The front has moved in the south. M52 is Allied but closed. M65 is German but closed. The FEBA system works well in one area but has a hard time dealing with multiple attacks. M65 should have been contested and closed but just wasnt happening with the battle being strung out at T38 to T45 all night. FEBA holds great promise but the amount of scripting required is daunting. GO TEAM DAN. Generally what happens on the ground is minor to what happens in the air, at least to our S3 pilots. Again not many complaints about the new FMs though the 109 Hawk\Hurri matchup has yet really been tested. Now with two German squads upgraded to the Bf109E4 we should see this in the remaining frames. Good Luck in Frame 3 |

Herr Jabo - Bf110s or 109E4s? |

Once a unit has been upgraded to the 109E4, there are no requirements for it to fly any aircraft for the rest of the series, similarily, if a squad gets the Spitfire, it can run those for the rest of the series |
