New Map and summary up

The German assault was concentrated in the centre and south of the French frontline. Panzers and paratroops concentrated on attacking the Liege area(T43) as well as Luxembourg(T39). French resistance was strong especially by their airforce and RAF units attached to the air defense. Many German halftracks were strafed down during the night and heavy losses occurred to a late Ju52 drop by the Luftwaffe. In the south strong support of a French counterattack allowed the Allies to take Trier(T50) from the Germans. Congested traffic and Allied bombing held up strong panzer forces in front of Liege but heavy damage by Luftwaffe He111s was done to the town and later on to St. Vith(T46) in the south.

Losses to combat aircraft was relatively light for both sides with the Allies claiming 19 and the Luftwaffe 17. Few bombers were lost during the night by either side.

Frame too close to call but waiting on the S6 to count pilots KIA and BDA. Will update and assign reinforcements later in the week.

Frame 2 will see a probably German expansion into Holland. France is proving just too difficult to advance through against an alert French defense. Expect to see the FEBA in the T38-T49 area. But expect anything and be flexible in your mission planning. Arena is up and running to observer the FEBA in action just remember to type .privatearena s3 to login before it goes public on Saturday.

Notes

1. FEBA cannot be controlled as yet and develops as it sees fit(ie between the two closest fields measured from tower to tower) Each side must adapt and support their FEBA offenses as it progress during a frame. The system holds a lot of promise and the focusing of effort by the flashing circles and intel makes ground support have a purpose and goal that was missing before.

2. CM launched AI routines started off fine in the T43 to T51 area but most ended up stuck down in the river valleys in the area. FEBA routines seemed to work better and stay on target. Halftrack flak seemed to be easy meat for the strafing Allied fighters.

3. Tanks, bridges and shipping are all worthwhile targets. Germans have a decided advantage in attacking tanks but the Allies are on the defensive and can reinforce quickly making getting at their tanks more difficult. Generally though keeping aircraft losses low and shooting down more of the enemy will win you the frame. Dont forget for every aircraft shotdown their is the pilot result that is added to it. It always is best to play it safe and bail if at all possible for team points and individual awards.

Good Luck in Frame 2

Tallied up all the points and the Allies have a slight lead going into Frame 2 - 57 to 50.

Because of this the Luftwaffe receive one unit of 109E4 reinforcements which are assigned(random die roll on random.org) to the 475th FG for the rest of the series.
