when your closer to friendly territory even when you ditch in the water south of enemy cv's 70 miles from shore? Thought things were changed so you had to be within a couple miles to a base.

Anyways I find this unappealing to the class that the S3's are supposed to have.

It would help if you gave a clear example of what you are talking about.

Not sure either. We had a guy exit on the runway over 2 miles from the tower and he was logged as a ditch. So I know its working.

So, for the very LAFs, where is the 2 miles taken from? Is the field tower the center point for the 2-mile circle? "Half-way back home" didn't make aircraft roll-out placement ON an airfield quite so critical. If we know the criterion for the two-mile circle, specific runways might be specified for landings by COs.

If you can see where I posted at the cv's. No where near land unless there's rw's in the middle of the ocean.

I'll send things to Jabo. Happened in the 3rd frame and the 4th frame with landings in the water 2 miles from the cv's. Both times 2 or more squaddies were there and saw it.

Not raising stink, well I am, but more so to see if things changed without notice.

FWIW

Was it bombers? AI have a habit of ditching themselves. If a human did it you would see it.

Jabo, I tested the field in question and Honor was less than two miles from the visual tower and the VOR reading was less than two miles.

What does this mean?

It means the center point for THAT specific field for SAFEDITCH probably isnt where it should be.

In other words a terrain bug is the likely culprit. Otherwise we would be getting lots more reports.

As for Yamon's report, without specifics it will be very hard to track down the issue.

I do not believe CV's count (or ever have). As long as I remember, landing in the water by CV's has always been a ditch and capture. Hell, if it wasn't no one would bother landing on the CV.

I think that CV's have never been a safe bail or ditch location. It has always been the closest LAND base that determines
safe or captured. Could it be the game requires a fixed location, and because the CV's are moving the game coding can't
recognize CV's?
