http://www.squadselectseries.com - same map as in Frame 2, new summary up.

Frame 3 of the matchup saw Naval ops again and the Japanese were not waiting for the Americans to come to them. An all out assault on a nearby USN Task Force was launched before dawn. Every available P1Y bomber was tasked with sinking as many US carriers as possible. The medium altitude specialist fighter, the N1K-1J George, was tasked with escort and CAP over the US vessels.

When the attack came in the air battle over the carriers was already heated. F4U4s and Georges were scrambling down low near the retreating Task Force as the Japanese torpedo bombers came in. Luckily for the Americans their TBF strike group had left earlier and was on the way to target away from the Japanese attack. Many of the modern Japanese bombers fell to defending fighters, 21 were confirmed later in the day, but the USS Enterprise, still crippled from an early torpedo hit, was hit by several torpedoes and quickly sank with heavy loss of life.

While TBFs hunted Japanese shipping to the east of their Task Force another Japanese attack came in consisting of many G4M1 kamikazes. USAAF Mustangs were now on station above the carrier group and 25 of the lightly armored bombers were sent flaming into the sea. At the same time a lone P1Y came in amidst the carnage and dropped a torpedo into the side of the USS Franklin which was in the midst of fueling up another TBF strike and was rocked by secondary gas explosions and sank later in the night.

US TBF strikes suffered heavily over the night losing 40 of the three man torpedo bombers but they managed to sink 6 ships in convoys and at least another 6 anchored at ports in the area.

Until the S6 is in its hard to call who won the frame. Right now tied 182 each but this is without pilot losses accounted for.

Penalty Plane - assigned to -honor for gunning multiple times from a landbased 40mm. One or two shots is considered an accident but not 90.

Pilots Confirmed Kills - cannot fly the same plane as Frame 3 in Frame 4

NOTES:

1. Lots of complaints about torps in the water not scoring or Kamis have to live and cannot smash into ships. Until the code is changed that is the way it has been for this and the previous 5 Kamikaze events. Same goes for bombs in the air or bullets fired after you die.

2. Do not gun from ships or land AAA. Guys can jump to gun positions to watch and the wrong button can be hit so that can be accounted for just like fixing a teleport after you do it. But if you continue to shoot AAA you will get a penalty plane.

3. Several bomber pilots were trapped on the water during attack runs using the bomber interface. Its a known bug below 300ft. If you are being attacked or on an attack run stay above 300ft and keep your AI above you if possible. When your lead plane goes down you can then attach to one of your wingmen. If they are too low it defaults and puts you on the water where you cannot lift off. Your only hope is if another one of your wingmen is high up and you can transfer to it.

4. Remarkably no complaints of collisions with the mast on the Freighters so far this series.

Good Luck in Frame 4

Honor has been notified....ROFLMAO.

He was shooting at the TBFs which were at F167 he said.....I reckon the two wrongs make a right kind of thought process.

Penalty plane it is!
