Post subject: | SITC Frame 1 Summary |
http://www.squadselectseries.com - New map and summary up. First frames are always very tough ones to fly and plan without any feedback. Thanks to Sasquatch and Beaver for Frame COing. First strikes were very tough on both sides with the brand new TBF-1C being used as a level bomber from medium altitudes to take out radar and support positions in the central coastline of Japan. Over the night the Avengers destroyed two important radar stations at F134 and F174, that will be now be destroyed and closed for the rest of the series. But the losses were high with 39 TBFs being shotdown by Japanese N1C1s. Two of which fell to the defensive fire of the USN strike aircraft. Japanese fortunes were a bit better when their fast PY1 Frances bombers swept in underneath a higher CAP and hit a USN Carrier group. The USS Bunker Hill was hit by several torpedoes, capsized and sank with heavy loss of life. Angry F4U4s managed to wipe out the Japanese strike force that had little escort, a total of 16 Japanese bombers were shotdown and only 1 F4U was claimed in return. A second later attack by dedicated Kamikazes in G4M1s did not even get past the destroyer screen being wiped out by waiting Corsairs. 10 kamikazes were blasted into the sea but they managed to take 4 F4U4s with them. In the air to air battle the USN F4U4s came out ahead with claims for 56 e/a, 24 of which were the new N1K1-Js. Japanese George fighters claimed 46 e/a of which 8 were F4U4s. But it was the sinking of the US CV and high losses to the TBF-1Cs that gave the Japanese the lead after Frame 1, 144 to 132. Allied Frame CO must announce the area of operations for frame 2. These pilots were confirmed kills in Frame 1 and cannot fly the same aircraft they did in Frame 1 in the next frame they fly. It is up to each pilot to make sure they follow this rule. drdart oledkk zinhwk mspiro -tmoa- easyed hutani =-sakai goneer vulche tatonk swanee docgxx sainte waggaa sainte juice= -hawk- timrob travte stang- okdoc- rampon trakkr lalasu countt WLDBIL lalasu darryl ozzone gravey neuron vsnair neuron saspin rampon omega- icyplt -odee- fepper boomaa pppepp besea- jaybrd booner heaven =-dazed dawger -deak- madcat =jman= jlordj ohshix todzla chicdg slpsht =vslp= |

5. Squad Aircraft - each pilot may fly the At Start Aircraft listed for their squad in the A/C table. After each frame any pilot that is listed as a confirmed kill in the frame summary must fly a different aircraft from the one they were shot down in for next frame. Variants of each type count as a different aircraft(ie J2M2 and J2M3). It is up to each individual pilot to be aware of and to follow this rule. Clairification Please! This list is NOT REFLECTIVE of S6 results. Is this a list of KIA? "KIA" is not a S6 (Log) term. What is the status of "bailed captured" pilots? |

"Confirmed kill" is following ye ole rules of confirmed shot down. I was bailed and captured yet listed as "killed". |

Can you fly the plane you were shot down in again after skipping the next frame? The rule only seems to apply to the next frame. <S> |

zinhwk wrote: "Confirmed kill" is following ye ole rules of confirmed shot down. I was bailed and captured yet listed as "killed". Well, in that case, the list is NOT REFLECTIVE of S6 results. When some pilots who happen to have the same status as others listed, but are not listed, figuring out the actual criterion becomes difficult. |

Hmmm and I had a collision with debris from a TBF. So does that apply to me also? |

In the real world, a "kill" is the destruction of an enemy aircraft in flight and I think this is the standard being applied. Pilot Killed is always a kill but a kill is not always pilot killed. The final status of the AIRFRAME is the real world criteria for "kills" and should be the same in the game. |

It "could be" that Pilot Lands with a Hangnail is the criterion set by the Janitors in any one Series for a "kill". What's critical is that the criterion be CLEAR to all participants so that inadvertent violations do not occur putting any number of pilots in a "penalty" situation. SUMMARY •pilots •sorties •safe landing(s) •airframe(s) lost •pilot(s) KIA •taken POW •victories •assist(s) •ground objects and/or AI destroyed In regards to the current discussion "confirmed kill" does not happen to be a "Summary" item which muddies instant identification of effected pilots. In the published list, some pilots who had the same "designation" as others (in the Log) did not happen to be on the list. S3 Clarifications - the S3 staff reserves the right to make a ruling on questions or game situations not answered completely or missed by the rules. For further clarification please post on the S3 forum. |

Pretty simple. I look at the log and take all the guys listed as claimed to another pilot/AAA/otto, friend or foe. I remove all the G4M1 Kamikazes from the list beforehand so it is only pilots claimed flying regular rides as a confirmed kill by another pilot or AAA/otto. Note all AI kills are not logged and so cannot be tracked. |
