Luftwaffe 109s again dominated the skies in the North and South but the VVS followed a different tactic of avoiding their major sweeps and sending out groups of Pe2s and P39s to attack targets in the enemies rear.
A sweep of 190 was avoided by VVS Pe2s and several ships were sunk in the Sea of Azov and 181 attacked and closed. But the major German attack in the south was forming and moving deep into the Caucasus. The major field in the south 25 was closed and both 19 and the important oil refinery at Krasnodar(F92) were also hit and closed by Ju88s and heavy 109s. Later the same heavy 109s would attack the isolated coastal outpost at 294 and close it.
The VVS were busy hunting shipping and several ships were sunk off of 182 but the majority were taken down after a long sortie to the west of Sevastopol. P39s attacked enemy tanks in the north and in return 109s hit Russian tanks all along the front. One Soviet tank formation was wiped out. Losses to P39s were heavier though due to the presence of determined 109 sweeps all night along the north coast.

Axis 109s again dominated, shooting down 32 e/a while VVS Yaks could only account for 5 enemy 109s.
Russian Pe2s sank 17 ships and P39s took out 5 panzers during the night. German 109s took out 19 tanks but left Russian shipping alone.

Axis still have a strong lead 301 to 217 but the VVS did well in Frame 4 and closed the gap slightly.

Frame 5 should be interesting with all the closed fields littering the map.

Good Luck
