Is the Bf-109 G-6 to include the Rüstsätze VI modification?

Just the 109G6 and 109G2. Many of the units involved still were flying G2 or G4s and the G6 was a nice upgrade.

ahem, flip, flip, flip. G-2's and 4's were also fitted with Rüstsätze VI (20mm Gondola's) and very few F-4's as well (known as Rüstsätze I). For the purposes of Warbirds (and not too far off reality as I read it) the gondola's are a weapons package and in no way represent a new aircraft (FM) or a late war iteration there of.

And now after poking the bear, I will shelve that thought for a later discussion on the totalsims forum!

G-2, worn tried and true, G-6 new and shiny :ugeek: and not yet Frankenbeast. Got it boss!

I could be wrong but bomber defence was probably not a priority on Russian Front. Always good to have argument on loadouts, MW50 and GM1 etc. Keeps things fresh and good to have on our board as well.

I would agree with that statement, however it wouldn't be far fetched for the Germans to see the effectiveness and utilize that against field strafing as well as combating the IL-2. I'm reading through the Aircraft of the Aces series to maybe find what was used often. For the most part pilots repeatedly preferred not having the extra weight.

My point is mostly related to the game as a whole. I am preparing a post related to this for the totalsims board and the intent is to actually pare down the 109 selection. It would be better if the gondolas were treated as a weapon attachment just the same as the rockets. But that is a major 3D effort I know so in due time...

BF109E-4 through 7 ground attack types, were even used in this battle. This was the battle that rendered them obsolete and the last unit pulled from the russian front.
