S3 Series

There will be an event on July 12th - prior to that event a missing man event will occur for our beloved Pappyb. All squad CO's will receive emails in the next day or 2 regarding the details and ALL, buffs included, are invited to be part of it and I sincerely hope that EVERY squad will be a part of it.

More details as we work them out.

Thanks Hawk! We will be running some practice runs Saturday 2100 Eastern in the in the main combined arms arena. But we will have more sessions if you can't make this one.

Greece map, in Main combined arms is the map that will be used.

Now this is not set in stone but this is how I envisioned the event based on quality of video and historical perspective. The 1st missing man flight was done by the RCAF and while it was adopted to all aircraft it really has not changed much from the original.

I've asked WB to give several of us Cmeye mode in the arena which will give much cleaner video.



Plan:



4th will be led by a single AC with the rest flying behind in 4 ships - the last 4 ship will have bomber flying as pappyb and on pull-up turn smoke on and pull up 30 degrees high, turn 30 degrees over other AC and fly over tower and disappear.



All other squadrons will fly their ride in formation, standard 4 finger (2 and 2) past tower.



We will fly green and field 226 has a very nice view over the water for those that want to watch from tower. So we will adjust flight for best tower view and cmeye folks will take best position for filming. If bomber is flying pappyb's plane I will fly lead AC - all other planes besides pappyb's will have icons off. I was thinking that maybe the CO of each squadron might have icons on too so I leave it open for discussion.



As far as the 4th and who is in what flight - it makes no difference to me as long as it remains the same through all practice sessions and the event itself.



One other thing, while the main thing I had to do was to get the word out which was hard enough - I have not yet posted my goodbye so I will do that shortly. WB will edit the video's (two will be made so two flyovers need to be done back to back as Kelly has his own version which will be nice over the water.



Please respond ASAP with agreement, disagreement, suggestions or whatever so I can setup practice times. If not all can make every practice session that is fine but try to make at least two of them!

There should be some RCAF there, I will be,so just give me times (no Friday evenings though, I have made commitments for life for Fridays , it's a trade off for Sundays in the S3's)
