Need your opinion on a new computer. If this isn't good, where do I go to get one. In NC, there isn't a whole lot of places to get a good computer and I think this one is over priced. Still, I need some options. Thanks all! Here is your Custom Designed Intrex Desktop PC: |

Take a look at the components on newegg.com if you want to compare pricing or put one together yourself. |

Actually, the wife my CFO said no more putting them together. LOL So, these guys can do it, but not sure if it's an over sale. Cheers! |

Hawk, A few years ago, I purchased a system from Ibuypower.com . The price was reasonable, still runs great and best yet, they build it exactly to your specified requirements. Nice option if you need a ready-made warrantied system that you can direct exactly which components you want . Give em a look |

Ive always built my home computers. However the last time I needed to was 4-5 years ago so i may be a bit antiquated with my advice. Make sure the motherboard and video card has a sterling reputation. Your price doesnt look all that bad when you factor in the warranty and the cost of the monitor. I think the i5 CPU will be good enough for your needs. Check out that thermaltake fan though and make sure it isnt gonna be too noisy, there are some real nice & quiet liquid cooled closed units out there for the same price, Corsair I think. |

I would recommend an i7 cpu....single core threaded game...so everything hits ONE core of your CPU... Dobs |

Antec is a newer brand for me but many PC builders back it up. Personally I use Coolermaster case, heat sinks and fans. Surprisingly inexpensive compared to most, very well built products and all of their fans are ultra quiet. When I get home I'll give you the specs. Be careful with liquid cooling, cumbersome, overpriced (IMO) and if you build excellent airflow heating is not an issue, especially for WarBirds purposes. If you are really worried about it, look into CPU heat sinks. Third Dobs opinion on the CPU, you'll want powerful single core processing. If I would give simple advice it would be put your money into Motherboard and CPU, and cooling, everything else you will have to upgrade in a years time anyway if you want current tech. |

Also... An important question is whether you are building to support only War Birds, or building to use modern games/programs. The Motherboard, CPU, case, power supply are important to set up for upgradability and outside the power supply are the most expensive to replace/upgrade because they usually force you to replace/upgrade everything else at the same time. You can get by with a "medium" Vcard by today's standards as it is more than adequate for WB EG. Ditto RAM and 1TB SATA HDD are dirt cheap these days which is more than enough unless you collect videos and pictures. |

There are a couple of games I play. 1. Warbirds 2. World of Tanks 3. American's Army All three are different and thanks for the information. Is there a big difference between have 8 gb ram vs 16gb? I can save some and get the i7. |
