I have been planning to have this S3 (Layte and Luzon) as the sequel to the Black Sheep Squadron series from last season. The squads sides just flip for this one. except for the RCAF, as I needed to balance the numbers.

Great, Pacific CV wars are always lotsa fun. Someone gave me an original 1944 newspaper clipping and AP photo signed by Captain Bolger of the USS Intrepid getting hit by a Kamikaze. Hangs in my office. Last major Naval battle of WW2. Nice to pay tribute.

Many thanks Nooky, Muzz and team, we appreciate the hard work making the S3 fun. Both sides should be really fun to fly. Hope we can add a Kamikaze scenario or two As Juice said, just give us a ride and tell us what color to shoot at

One note I have on the Kamikaze feature, I don't mind it at all, however, last time (a few years ago I think) we enabled kamikaze missions for pilots who had died already during the frame. Pilots flying the kamikaze runs got unlimited attempts. The only problem was each time they got shot down, or blew up a ship (by dropping a bomb just before impact (to create damage on the ship), the Allied pilots got S3 scoring credits for the kills against each Axis pilot. Be it shooting them down or maneuver kills. This seriously padded their personal scores at the expense of those trying to do the kamikaze run. If it goes into play this time, I believe those flying the kamikaze missions should be treated as non players from a scoring perspective (if they have already expended their 3 lives). Maybe small points awarded to the Allied side for those shot down, much like that of killing ai GVs, but no credit against the Axis pilot in overall scoring. And no maneuver kills awarded for those impacting ships. If that is possible. OR. Maybe it is possible to code the ai's to do kamikaze runs. Just a thought.

I believe coolon and muzz are setting up scoring with an emphasis on mission objectives.
I believe all kamikazes will be ai i also believe there is no points for shooting down a kamikaze. (Or very little)
Scoring will come from protecting/destroying ships, fields and mission objectives. Tbey should be posting the rules and scoring soon.

Instead of having all Kamikaze attacks be made exclusively by AI drones, could we limit the number of real life suicide attempts each pilot can make? Especially if there is no value in shooting down drones, other than keeping your CV afloat.

Perhaps something like:

> Limit # of Suicide attempts to 2 or 3?
> Allies get normal or reduced points shooting down suicide pilot or AI
> Limit suicide planes to bombers (Val, Kate, Betty)
> Kamikaze pilot can have the normal # of AI drones
> Suicide death of pilot does not count in log
> Award normal points for sinking Allied shipping to pilot with kill credit and Axis team

BTW, has the plane set been released for frame 1?
