Bomber otto weather handled by the player or AI rewards the kills to the player. It has always been this way and except for a very few rare occasions the AI\human gunners have always shotdown less attackers than the attackers have shotdown bombers.

The question arises if the AI wingman score kills or if they act as otto and award the kill to the pilot. Normal AI routines do not score kills in the buffer or the log. How do we tell if the kill is because the pilot was in the plane or AI was running it? Players can hope around between all 3 at anytime with the new interface. As long as the AI gunners are not shooting the enemy from the sky its a moot point. We need bomber and strike pilots to continue our game. This is the best way available today to give them multiple lives and large formations. Sure the AI need tweaks and can be as dumb as stumps but given the opportunity most bomber pilots opt to have them along for good or bad but it extends their capabilities and makes historic and realistic missions possible given our very low numbers of dedicated bomber\strike pilots.

Looking at Frame 3 stats;

TBFs claimed 9 kills all NiK-1Js except one of which was a friendly fire incident by another TBF.
N1K-1Js claimed 13 TBFs flown by a player and 27 flown as AI.
40 kills to 9 losses. But we must assume that several N1K-1Js were lost to TBFs flown as AI and not awarded as kills.

Ju88s claimed 3 kills of Allied fighters.
Allied fighters claimed 13 Ju88s flown by a player and 8 flown as AI.
21 kills to 3 losses. But again we must assume that several Allied fighters were lost to Ju88s flown as AI and not awarded as kills.
