Great videos guys. Thanks for the posts! Some exciting fights tonight, a lot of fun! Bad luck Dobs on the engine hit from the IL2 uber-marksman tail-gunner.

Nothing like revised settings last frame of the S3 eh. Dawger got blasted from d8...thinking about adding the 7.7 gun package on my 38 vs the 50s...seem way more effective:)

Poor decision on my part to try for an open field first....was thinking 190 oil leak run time vs 109:)

Its funny how pilots percieve things differently, they are right but for the wrong reasons. The gunners on the IL2s have always been the same they are set for 100 skill and 100 gunnery. Its the damage model that needed working. It was slowly ramped up from frame to frame to find that sweet spot where the IL2 began to represent the real life beast it was. Instead of downing them with a short burst you have to really lay into them giving the gunners plenty of time to blast you from 8000ft in. That was their engagement range. The other factor could be a few IL2 formations had 4 planes instead of 2 but most of the time they didnt seem to stay together and even with the best settings the AI flew into the hills around Sevastopol all the time or swirled around attacking balloons over the port.

IL2s hate balloons! I didn't know that.

Reminds me of a small gas station... "He hates these cans!"

D8 would not be 8000ft. Each distance marker represents 100-199 yards

D1 is 100-199
D2 is 200-299
D3 is 300-399

D8 is 800-899

So max you could have been with it showing D8 is 899 yards or 2699ft(yes I added the extra 2ft). Unless you are using that Common Core Math then it could be 8000ft.
