The late frame fight at the coast of Malta, sortie 2. The video contains colourful language, viewer discretion is adviced :-)

Cheers :-)

I showed up late and rolled South to our Rally Box to wait on squad. Picked up JU88s inbound on the way South and that started the attack on the NOE Bomber stream. Home field advantage played a huge part in last nights frame...the ability to cycle for ammo proved invaluable.

Second Video is uploading....it has the attack on the 2nd Wave of High Altitude Bombers and subsequent whirling dervish on the deck at Malta.

But in the meantime....here is a snapshot of the Mother of all Furballs! There is NO ACK in this picture!

I was not happy with you choosing your rendezvous area directly above our ingress to target!!
<S> was a well defended series by the Allies.

With respect to =Dobs=, he didn't see the actual "Mother of All Furballs" because he arrived late. I'll try to grab a screenshot of the actual "mother" where all of our Allied fighters were engaging with 95% of the Axis forces. Good googly mooglies it was a mess up there! SA non existent because it seemed that everybody was literally everywhere all at the same time. "Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, there I was... stuck in the middle with y'all".

Will try to get video and/or screenshot of that goobly gook up late tonight.

Cool, will have a look
Was too tired for S3 last night. I clumsily flew straight into the first buff I saw.

I was expecting an NOE attack from the south in Frame 5 but after the massive raid showed up north it was pretty much forgotten and all assets were tasked to the north. Dobs showed up late and was ordered to the rendezvous and several other fighters had cycled after expending ammo on the bombers and were also ordered to climb to our designated rally box before turning back north to re-engage.

If the NOE raid had been timed to hit Malta when the northern raid was 30 miles north of Malta, we never would have seen you or had any assets to commit.

It was a great piece of good luck on our part.

I got super excited when dobs called visual on dots south of Malta. I knew it would be the NS NOE in unescorted bombers and we had assets fresh up from Malta.

The radar picture of 120 dots (including all those AI bombers) in 15 mile square was pretty awesome

Compilation of my first 3 sorties. There was some pretty intense late frame action, (which I conveniently failed to record) which resulted in my dying at the hands of Juice and the 352nd (again). This video captures our initial merge with the "Mother of All Furballs", my narrow escape, and our extremely fortunate discovery of the NOE bombers that came in from the south.

Horrido! Salute!

Oh yeah Dawg, the timing was off by 5 minutes.

Our route was pretty much dictated by the tgt array, and an east approach could have worked, but then a left turn to 180 and back down and still be caught. Oh well, better to try and lose than not try at all.

We later found out from the Godz that the Spit grab course was right over us, and we had thot they would grab another way due to the awesome DAR the RAF had.

Three of us almost made it and prolly should have with our good speed. 'twas a long tail chase, but we finally succumbed. Dew made it out.

Gums sends...
