I have finally gotten around to participate in one of the "Scenarios" held in Aces High a few times a year. A setup I'm quite used to, escorting B-17s and B-24 in LW country.

It just ain't the same….

You get 2 lives (although the guy I killed Saturday had died 3 time by the time I killed him and yet flew two more sorties, dying once) and icons out to D60 (YGBFSM!).

The planners worked hard, but I just didn't see the level of planning/orders I was used to in the S3. Instead of "RP with the BG at grid x,y at T+ 34 minutes 15 secs" it was an MS paint line drawn around the map to show the route and all the fighters were kept as close escort. Needless to say the entire bomber force was lost. One of the few times I wished I had flown LW and grabbed a 190A8.

It was just main arena play, only difference was we had a scheduled start time.

Keep of the good work here.

Come back to the fold Columbo:) We need experienced guys to keep the game moving forward.

We need Real World flight experience (especially in prop aircraft) to help with FM development and QC work.

My flight experience in jets with modern flight controls falls a bit short:) Dawger has been carrying the load, and bcamel been working FM program and engine builds.

Anyhow, I'm sure JABO will be pleased for the praise.

Cheers!

~S~ Col.

I value your opinion on the AH scenario and thank you for posting it. I wondered about it, but not enough to actually load it up and play.

After being quizzed multiple times by AH guys on how the S3 works, I also gave their AH scenarios a try.
I also was underwhelmed. Hard to beat 3 hours, 1 life, trying to remember to occasionally breath. After
over 19,000 world of tanks battles and huge nightly campaigns in WOT Clan Wars, time for me to give the S3
another look.
