Operation Hailstone (known in Japan as; トラック島空襲 Torakku-tō Kūshū, lit. "the airstrike on Truk Island") was a massive naval air and surface attack launched on February 16–17, 1944, during World War II by the United States Navy against the Japanese naval and air base at Truk in the Caroline Islands, a pre-war Japanese territory. Truk was a major Japanese logistical base as well as the operating "home" base for the Imperial Japanese Navy's Combined Fleet. The USN attack in this event will find the IJN ready to defend this base with all their still formidable might.
This will be a four frame event that will feature a mid-series switch by the main fighter squads. The focus of this series is the matchup between the A6M5a and F6F5 with all supporting attacks being done by the USN in SBDs and TBDs.
Starts Feb 8 in the S3 Arena featuring the new Truk terrain at 8:30PM Eastern/5:30 PM Pacific
Strongly urge all players to check out the new Truk terrain by updating your WBs before game day.
