Since Port Moresby was the only port supporting operations in Papua, its defence was critical to the campaign. The air defences consisted of P-39 and P-40 fighters. RAAF radar cannot provide sufficient warning of Japanese attacks, so reliance has to be placed on coastwatchers, scouts and spotters in the hills. Japanese bombers escorted by fighters have to climb over the high mountains and use their altitude advantage to bomb the allied build-up from Australia.
The Japanese must try and support their attacking forces across the Owen Stanley Range. The Allies must try and hit their jungle trails and new airbases over the mountains to the west.
Passwords out to COs today or tomorrow. Terrain loaded and updated on Tuesday next week.
Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend so will be away from my computer until Monday.
Silly question. I probably should know the answers but I don't
- Is the object this time for the AX to push south and the AL to hold the ground? Will the "blue" line be moving south through the series or remain static?
- Who has ships? They are black on the map, or they AX or AL or some of both?
help please......
Oh yea, Happy Canadian Turkey Day!!! I live live 60 miles from Canada so maybe I should celebrate tonight with you

No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country. George S. Patton
Updated the maps on mainpage. New NG terrain loaded into S3 arena. Not setup yet with proper files so hold off bomb testing etc but you can zoom around offline and check it out once you update.
Front will not move much its a stalemate in the mountains. Both sides will have moving ships and aircraft(AI) as well as anchored static ships at most of the ports/docks. Sorry was busy getting the fields updated will handle series questions now.
Away from home until Saturday but will revise the planning map with corrections. All ships are very approximate locations. You need to search for them, with the primitive radar picture it should be possible to scout at medium altitudes making finding the ships easier.
