A late post. I've been tied up with an ongoing garage reno.
Due to some late log ins, Allied bomber number were less than optimum. Four bombers initially escorted by two then later three fighters. Bombers headed south from the UK and initially made a feint at heading towards southern targets before altering to the east to hit the western most Rail Yard at Amiens (F118). LW fighters scored successes against AI wingmen, but were once again badly mauled by the defensive fire of the bomber formation. Bombing was accurate, but the targets were well dispersed. A second pass was required, but this still left three large warehouses intact and the rail yard remained open. The bombers egressed to the west and then north, hounded by LW fighters. 8th AF HQ elected to scrub a second mission for the day as the bomber crews would be unable to get home before nightfall.
