In Frame 2 the Allies came out with an aggressive fighter sweep made up of their newest P38Gs. The Japanese were ready and showed up with 43 fighters against the 27 Allied fighters. The superior speed and climb of the Lightnings proved to much for the zeros and tonys and it was a day of disaster for Japan. Only one enemy fighter was claimed by the Japanese to 26 claimed by the Allies.

B25s hit several settlements and sank many ships there while on the high seas low-level bombers used heavy cannon and skip bombs to sink many more ships. Several B25s fell to collisions and AAA but on the sea like in the air the it was a black day for the Japanese.

Stung into action the Japanese High Command ordered units as far away as China to head for Rabaul immediately. Ki44s with vetern pilots and the latest zero, the A6M5a, just off the production lines were rushed forward to hold the line in the Pacific Southwest.

Allies have a huge points lead and have declared a Rabual Raid for Frame 3. All attacks must be made east of the operational line.

Same map as in Frame 2. Aircraft table updated with the new Japanese aircraft.

Pilots KIA from the S6 deaths list.

Pilots in Frame 2 that were flying a 1st line a\c must fly a 2nd line aircraft in Frame 3. Those flying a 2nd line aircraft in frame 2 may fly any aircraft in frame 2. Only deaths in 1st line aircraft are counted.

Notes:

1. Sometimes you design a scenario around a match-up that just does not work. A long time ago we did a historical FW190A4 vs Spit Vb match-up and it was a disaster. Never repeated but obviously one-sided, as it was in real life. With the new FMs we will have much better historical match-ups but it may prove difficult to play-balance until the the S3 designers get it right. Feedback on the new FMs is essential and we hope to get more before the next event featuring the untried MC200. We have complete confidence in the FM work going on and it is our lack of understanding in the changes that lead to this one-sided affair. That being said we reserve the right to make an event more challenging and fair when we do not design it properly. Thus the late addition of the Ki44 and A6M5a. Hopefully this will help make the Japanese side more competitive in the remaining 3 frames.

2. B25Ds hitting the F60-61-62 area at the start of the frame did not use the proper seperation of a min of 100ft. They were asked to do so several times and did this later in the frame. Points scored for the first sortie will not be counted.

3. B25Hs had problems getting their wingman to take off. It may be the angled spawn points at airfields. You can shorten the formation to trail at 20 ft for take off purposes if this helps. You must revert back to the 100ft distance once airborne.

4. There have been and will be more great changes in WarBirds making it more of a simulation than ever before. All aspects of the game will be corrected and improved and mistakes will be found out. Helpful information and data is the best way to correct things you believe wrong. Feedback is always appreciated after a frame is over.

My apology for the late summary.

About the next event jabo.
Just a suggestion.
I'd plan to add in the 202, 109f, p40e and spit v just in case.
I'm guessing that the c200 will not be as much of a pk magnet as the ki43 but it's lack of firepower and altitude capabilities may make the series overbalanced.
Also it would be a good idea to turn on the gps.
I'd hate to miss the S3 debut of the Saetta.

We figured out the B25H Wingman problem. Once you are airborne, click on the wingman and drag it out to sea just ahead of your current position. Do the same for each wingman. Once they are feet wet, order them to form up and they speedily comply. Was kinda scary with no Icons to see some planes closing fast on your 6 :D

I am not sure why I made this list above .

In frame 1 I lived through the frame with a 1st line aircraft.
In frame 2 I died in a second line aircraft.

Am I not understanding why I can't fly a KI61 in frame 3....

It is a failure of communication.

What Jabo really means is this.

"If you find yourself on the death list for Frame 2, but were flying a second line aircraft, just ignore it. You are good to go in any aircraft you want for Frame 3. The only deaths on the death list that are counted for the second line requirement are deaths to players flying First Line aircraft.
