It was noted last Sunday that some Allied pilots flew 1st line fighters even though losing one in frame 1. There are many new rules to learn for this season and I believe these violations were unintentionall. It still had an impact on the outcome of frame 2, and a good solution could be for the pilots to simply fly a P-40N/SpitV in frame 3 instead, as should have been done in frame 2.

Pilot 1

Borderline case, might not need penalty as was never shot down or crashed in frame 1, simply disco-damaged.
Frame 2 impact: 2 kills

Pilot 2
http://www.errthum.com/troy/warbirds/s6 ... &stats=BHP
Shot by ack and bailed + captured at F25 in frame 1
Frame 2 impact: 3 kills, 2 assists

Pilot 3

Bailed + captured in frame 1, circumstances unknown.
Frame 2 impact: 2 kills, 1 assist

Cheers!

These are the Frame 1 stats from Phenix' S6 site. The 352nd had (4) listed pilots. Three of those flew in Frame 2. Those three pilots flew "second line" aircraft. If the fourth shows for Frame 3, he will be flying a "second line" aircraft.

This "Second Line" stuff is a bit confusing for all as the term "KIA" is not one used in S6 stats. Basically one way to look at a "KIA" is that if you bailed, you didn't die, but your airplane did. (AND it happens to be the case that the pilot who did the most damage to your ac gets credit for the "kill" of your airplane.)

5. Squad Aircraft - each pilot may fly any aircraft listed for their squad in the A/C table to start the series. If a pilot is listed as KIA after a frame they cannot fly a 1st Line aircraft next frame they fly but must choose a 2nd line aircraft instead

I would forward than none of the listed examples happened to be violations as none of the pilots were "KIA". (Killed In Action)

The rule is Killed in Action, indicating death of the pilot, not loss of the airframe.

Bailed and Captured are not dead pilots.

KIA is deaths. I amended the pilots to the Frame 1 summary.

Seems I was the one misunderstanding the rules, thinking the requirement was "lost plane" not "KIA". I stand corrected :-)

Easy to do. That's what I thought it was until I read it carefully.

Too bad we can't strafe parachutes

Quick question Jabo:

I have a pilot who was killed in the first frame, but wasn't able to fly the second frame. Does he have to fly a 2nd line aircraft for the 3 frame, or can he fly the first line?

The normal requirement whenever someone has to fly a penalty plane or in this case a 2nd line aircraft they will be required to fly it the next frame they fly. So your pilot would need to fly a 2nd line aircraft if he flies frame 3.
